Our interns work alongside professional carpenters, under the direction of a Technical Director and Assistant Technical Director, to create innovative and unique scenic elements.
In addition to developing technical skills in carpentry, welding, and rigging, Scenic Interns have the first-hand opportunity to see how a professional design becomes fully realized in a short amount of time. Past interns have gone on to work professionally at well-known companies such as the Utah Shakespeare Festival and the Glimmerglass Festival.
Candidates for Scenic Internships should have a basic familiarity with all standard hand and power tools, a working knowledge of reading drawings, and a drive to learn in a fast-paced hands-on setting.
